An NVQ is different from most qualifications: there are no written exams. You are assessed on what you already do at work.
How it works
You build a portfolio of evidence from your own job: risk assessments you wrote, inspections you carried out, incidents you investigated, training you gave. An assessor reviews it with you and asks about your work.
Level 6 or Level 7
The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice suits safety officers and advisors with experience. Level 7 is for those who lead health and safety strategy in an organisation.
The OTHM diplomas
The OTHM diplomas at Level 6 and 7 also have no written exams: they are assessed on assignments, with a tutor's guidance. One of our learners finished the OTHM Level 6 diploma in about five months.
Is it for you?
If you already work in health and safety and want a higher qualification without leaving your job, an NVQ or OTHM diploma is the usual route. Call or WhatsApp the office to talk it through.
